ABOUT
TONY
HERRICK - THE BUSINESSMAN
Tony has run his very successful businesses (and sailed all over the
world) for over 35 years. He is well known and respected by the
world's sailing community and business associates alike, as someone
who is committed to his business interests, friendly, trustworthy
& honest (to a fault) and who maintains exceptionally high ethics
and standards. Five years ago, he scaled down his operations to his
relatively small, very busy and popular store in the heart of the city
of Durban. Tony is a "mine" of information on world cruising
and is ALWAYS happy to assist when he can.
Assisted
by: Tony is very ably assisted by Katherine ("Kat")
in the store. She is extremely knowledgeable and becomes a friend to
all she meets.
CRUISING
CONNECTIONS
Situated at 4 Fenton Lane in Durban, just a 3 minute stroll from
Durban Marina and the yacht mole, the store is PACKED with charts and
books and is a favourite 'raft-up' for both local and visiting
sailors. Current weather forecasts and synoptic charts are printed and
posted outside the store daily. Orders for charts, books and marine
publications are processed and dispatched ALL OVER THE WORLD
efficiently and without delay. Being a sailor, Tony understands the
(always urgent) needs of cruisers around the world! "Arrive as a
customer - leave as a friend".
TONY
HERRICK - THE SAILOR
Tony is currently "between sailing voyages". He has cruised
all over the world - including a circumnavigation (see his SAILING
LOGS) - his logs and articles were first published in 'SA
Sailing'. He has also written a number of publications (Sailing Notes)
to assist the increasing number cruisers now choosing to take the Cape
of Good Hope, Cape Town route instead of the Red Sea. (see BOOKS).
Always
feel free to contact Tony (or Katherine) for ANY local,
East Africa or Indian Ocean & S Atlantic information - he is
always happy to help if
possible.
